COVID-19 | Yorkshire Baby Scan

Please read the following information which gives you details regarding how we are following the government’s COVID-19 advice during this new lockdown period.

Before attending Yorkshire Baby Scan

Before you attend your appointment please make sure you understand the risks around Coronavirus and pregnancy by reading the information outlined by the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology here.

If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, such as a temperature above 37.8 degrees, a new continuous cough or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste, please ring our reception team on 01904 413669 or e-mail info@yorkshirebabyscan.co.uk to rearrange your appointment. Similarly if you have to self-isolate because you live with or have been in contact with someone displaying the symptoms of COVID-19 or have returned from a country on the quarantine list please let us know and we will cancel or rearrange your appointment for an appropriate date with no extra charge.

You may bring a guest with you to your scan – preferably someone who lives in the same household or who is in the same social bubble as you.


During your scan

Before entering the Yorkshire Baby Scan sonography room you will be required to sanitise your hands. Hand sanitiser will be provided for you.

You and your guest will be required to wear a mask throughout your appointment. Your mask will need to cover both your nose and mouth area and we ask that you avoid touching your mask to avoid spreading infection. Your sonographer and the maternity support worker will also wear a mask and PPE equipment to help keep you safe. Please make us aware if you have forgotten your mask and we will provide a disposable one for you to use for the duration of your appointment.

At the end of your appointment, our team will sanitise the bed and all equipment used to ensure the safety of the room for the next patient.
